Hello colleagues!

It was great seeing those of you who made it out to Antonio's for the January meeting! It is going to be an ACTIVE week in Tallahassee! Please review the attached legislative update! There is almost too much going on to report everything...

ON THE HOUSE SIDE: expect ACTION on HOUSE BILLs 423, and 325!!! (Controlled Substances & Baker Act)- Both should see a lot of activity this week; with 325 heading to the floor for a vote TUESDAY!

ON THE SENATE SIDE: expect ACTION on SENATE BILLs 676 and 1316 (Controlled Substances & Nurse Compacts). 676 could end up on the floor this week for a vote.

SENATE bill 676 and HOUSE bill 423 are the bills that will allow Florida Nurse Practitioners to prescribe controlled substances. HOWEVER these bills are very different in language. I suggest all members take a look at the actual bill text. ONLY one will make it out of the legislative session, and BOTH bodies will have to approve. I have included a "Hyperlink" within the update report & this email! Feel free to comment or post questions to this post- I will be checking back to provide answers whenever possible! And as always - feel free to tweet your comments and questions @ARNPjoey or @CFL_ARNPs

Have a great week! Stay tuned!
