Progress in... well, in PROGRESS!

The end of the 2016 Legislative session is quickly approaching! The 60th (and final) day is March 11th.

HB 423 (The better of the many prescribing / controlled susbstance bills) has COMPLETELY left the House of representatives with an astounding 117 YES votes and only 2 no votes!!!

It has been rebranded / named "The Barbara Lumpkin Prescribing Act"

Barbara Lumpkin is a long time Florida nursing environment advocate and original collaborator for the Florida Center for Nursing (FCN). She has been invloved as a lobyist for the FNA and has made an impact on critical legislation in the past! In 2005 she was added to the FNA Wall of Honor.

This bill has been referred to Senate committes for review (and possible edits) and ultimatley must meet their approval. After this the Senate will read the bill (and vote).

WE EXPECT MUCH back and fourth in the final days between committees and BOTH the House of representatives and the Senate.

READ lastest progress for HB423 "The Barbara Lumpkin Prescribing Act"

STAY TUNED FOR FURTHER INFO!

Thanks for keeping a pulse on this Joey! Not perfect, but very good progress... What will the Senate do? Pass it? Change it? Time will tell! First it must be put on their calendar for a vote! Happy Days! Angie R.
