NP Controlled Substances Bill SIGNED TODAY!

Attention members, WE DID IT!
After more than 20 years it will officially be legal for Florida's nurse practitioners to prescribe controlled medications to the patients they serve! Governer Rick Scott officially signed HB 423 today! Today was the last possible day (day 15) for signature or VETO.
This bill is known now as the "Barbara Lumpkin Prescribing Act". This bill includes other caveats for APNs in addition to controlled substances so be sure to stay tuned; Updates and details coming soon! I will provide a brief summary at next week's meeting - HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE! For those of you unable to make it, I will post a summary after the meeting!
