Aixa I. Catala-Beauchamp, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC
Dr. Catala-Beauchamp has been a nurse since 1980. She obtained her BSN from the School of Nursing, Medical Sciences Campus, Puerto Rico. After being a bedside nurse in PICU, NICU, and ED for 16 years she pursed her MSN (Family Nurse Practitioner Track) from West Texas A&M, a MA-RE from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth Texas, and a DNP (Family Nurse Practitioner Specialty) from the University of Florida. She has been a nurse for 43 years, with the last 28 years as an acute care nurse practitioner. She have worked in AdventHealth for Children for the last 26 years. She works as a volunteer Licensed Health Care Provider for Shepherd’s Hope, a medical clinic that provides healthcare services, education, and wellness programs for the uninsured. She is a public speaker and has a variety of Christian and nursing publications including a chapter in a “Problemas Eticos de Actualidad” (Current Ethical Problems) book. She has been teaching nurse practitioners since 2016. She currently teaches at AdventHealth University, for the Online MSN-FNP Program. She have served the CFANPC in various positions since she joined in 1997, including being the President for 3 years. Her research interests include children’s obesity and evidence-based pedagogical strategies.
