Act Now! SB 614 (Controlled Subtance / DEA)

Posted over 10 years ago by Angie Ritten

Hello CFANPC Members and Followers!

It is time for all of us to GET ENGAGED AND EMAIL THE SENATORS BELOW!

We have been asked to email the Senate Rules Committee (Simmons, chair) on SB 614. This is the bill that allows ARNPs and physicians assistants (PAs) to get a DEA license to be able to prescribe DEA Medications. As you know, every other state in the nation allows nurse practitioners and PAs to get this license and prescribe these medications. This is a necessary piece to getting health care access to rural areas and under served populations. Florida is dead last in the nation when it comes to health care access, but first when it comes to limiting healthcare competition and innovation. We've got to change this and this bill would be a huge step forward if it passes, but first we have to get it on the agenda.

Below is a suggested email and the email addresses of committee members

It would be great to send a loud message to our senate.

Together We Can Be Victorious!

Dear Senator

Please agenda and pass SB 614 (Grimsley). This bill allows nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) to prescribe to the full extent of their education and training by allowing NPs and PAs to obtain a DEA license. Every other state in the country allows NPs and PAs to obtain a DEA license. Florida needs to modernize its health care laws to be able to provide health care to all of its citizens. Please agenda and pass this important bill.
